We know that this year more than ever you've been called upon to support important causes. We ask that you consider giving a small donation to the Stamford High School Marching Band. Our children have worked so hard to represent our school and community in the face of steep budget reductions. Please take a look at what they've accomplished so far:
- Marching band—Musical Arts Conference (MAC) championship first place in 2007, sixth place in 2008
- Winter Percussion—MAC championship first place in 2007, WGI finalist, 8th place 2007, 6th place in the nation in 2008.

Jazz Band—Norwalk High School Jazz Festival first place in 2008, preparing
for 2009 Berklee Jazz Festival in Boston.

Winter/Spring Programs have Started

November 17, 2008 - 10:52 — Mr.WaselikJazz Band begins this Tuesday (Nov. 18) at 2:15. Rehearsal will be every Tuesday and Thursday (2:15-3:30) unless there is a half day or no school. Everyone who was in the band last year will be accepted. New interests must audition with Mr. Waselik before rehearsals.

Words can not describe how proud I and the parents are of the members of the Stamford High School Marching Band. They have persevered through the trials and difficulties of the 2008 season. They have grown as musicians and leaders while learning life long lessons. This was shown in a strong performance in Bridgeport on Saturday.
Plans are already under way for the 2009 season. Please check regularly for updates.

Championships weekend has arrived!
The Stamford Black Knights Marching Band will be performing at MAC Championships at Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport Connecticut this Saturday. It has been a long and windy road to the ensembles final performance. For some it is their last marching band show with Stamford. We are grateful to all the seniors who have invested many hours for the betterment of this program. They will be surely missed.
The schedule has been emailed out to everyone. If there are any questions please feel free to contact the director.
