The Stamford High School Black Knights Marching Band is the largest musical ensemble at Stamford High School. The marching band is a competitive group of wind, brass and percussion players (7th to 12th grade students districted for Stamford High School are eligible to join). The marching band performs themed field shows comprised of challenging music and visual drill. All music performed is memorized, and a large staff of specialists works with the group for the duration of the season. The Black Knights Marching Band has an intense competition schedule, traveling to schools around New England in the Musical Arts Conference. The marching band also performs at the Holiday Spectacular Parade in Stamford, and at all home football games in Boyle Stadium.
