Winter Percussion Debuts in Shelton

Winter Percussion Debuts in Shelton

This weekend, Stamford Winter Percussion had their debut performance in the MAC circuit, at the Shelton Intermediate School. The ensemble moved up from A Class to Open Class this year, facing competition from Trumbull High School. The 2008 show is entitled "Teenage Wasteland," and is a set of three arrangements of songs by The Who, including "Who Are You?", "Behind Blue Eyes," and "Baba O'Riley."

The students had an energetic and dynamic first performance. The narration by actress Genesis Garcia tells the story of being the new kid in school, figuring out who she is, falling in and out of love, making friends and moving on beyond high school. Thanks to the hard work of the students and parents, the design of the show was realized through excellent drill-writing, arranging and teaching by the staff. Stamford scored an 85.30, and have started their season off with a great performance. Next weekend, they will be playing at Bunnell High School for their first WGI Regional.
