In the first ever combined Musical Arts Conference and Tournament of Bands competition the Stamford High Black Knights came out on top with a 1st place performance in class III as well as the award for best percussion.
Their energetic performance was the difference in a close class III matchup. With only two weeks to go in the season, the Black Knights will next face off against their competition at Norwalk where they will be matched up against most of the bands they will be seeing at finals as well as the Westhill Vikings marching band.
The day started with a weather forecast promising rain and threatening to move the competition indoors. But the weather cooperated with even some blue skies before dusk. The Ramsey Big Blue marching band hosted an excellent show with many bands in attendance. It was especially fun to see so many bands from the Tournament of Bands that we would not normally see at MAC competitions.
In another first, the band parents association sponsored a special bus for parents to attend this far-away show. It was an excellent turnout, and thanks to the parents who made the trip and were rewarded with excellent weather for a unique show.
Pictures are posted. The MAC Website has the official scores.
Remember to come to Norwalk to cheer on the Black Knights in their final show prior to MAC Finals!
